Axel - Harper Sloan

Axel (Corps Security, #1)Axel by Harper Sloan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I could be bias because I read every installment while it was being written, whilst texting the author and emailing back and forth constantly. I am super excited for Harper to get this thing published and out to the public. No one should go on without an Axel fix. He should be on EVERY favorites shelf. I have not re-read it completely all the way through, and CANNOT wait to get the finished copy to read it all the way through. I can't get over how awesome the characters are in this book.
Each book I've read while reading Axel has not come close to comparing to his Alpha hotness! Harper is a VERY talented writer and the scenes she explains makes you feel you are witnessing it first hand. I had goosebumps, tears, sadness, and laughter throughout this book. I can say she is an emotional author and you FEEL. This is the best part of a book for me. I LOVE FEELING THE CHARACTERS. Mrs. Sloan has already perfected this with her first book.
She has also created amazing supporting characters. If you could have seen my goofy grin when Harper and I were conversing about each character, I would be super embarrassed. I will write a full review once I complete this all the way through. I can't wait for all the reviews to come pouring in.
Please recommend this book to all your friends.

Bad Things (Tristan & Danika, #1)Bad Things by R.K. Lilley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow!!! What a story!!! Luckily this book was not a cliff hanger! There is definitely more to the story, but thankfully they are happy...for now!

Tristan and Danika were both introduced in James and Bianca's story. Unfortunately, Bianca did not make an appearance in this one :( apparently, James and her hadn't even met yet.

From the very beginning Tristan and Danika were fast friends. They did everything together. I just knew it was going to be a friendship, turn best friends, turned lovers and they lived happily ever after. Well...that's not exactly how it went. There were a lot of bumpy roads ahead for their relationship. Tristan didn't do relationships and Danika didn't do hook ups. Tristan was burned in his past and it ruined him for his romantic relationships. When he and Danika were friends, he made me feel like there was no one else, but her for him. Then he'd go and do something stupid. He pissed me off several times, but of course, there was a lot of hot sexy time for the make up sex.
This is a must read after the Up in the Air series!
A few panty dropping lines:
"I want you to let go. I want you to submit. I want to make you lose your mind. I want you to be so far gone that the only word left in your vocabulary is my name."

"But, sweetheart, listen carefully, when I say that I don't need anybody but you, what I mean is that I never have. I need you. I've never needed anyone or anything the way I need you. I need you in a way that would break me if I lost you. Being with you makes every part of my life better. Every second I get with you is the best second of my life. I'm not good at expressing myself, not like you are, but I treasure this thing between us. Don't think I don't."
There were several more, but definitely read it!

R.K. Lilley - props!! I love you! Mr. Cavendish was yummy and so was Tristan. You definitely didn't disappoint. Please hurry with book 2!!!

Ten Tiny Breaths (Ten Tiny Breaths, #1) - KA Tucker

Ten Tiny Breaths (Ten Tiny Breaths, #1)Ten Tiny Breaths by K.A. Tucker
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The beginning of the book was intense.
I instantly loved Kacey. Her witty comebacks and sarcastic comments were hilarious. Kacey picked up and moved her sister across the country to get away from their guardians after a horrific accident that Kacey was the only to survive. She never properly dealt with the emotions that came with the accident. After Livie, Kacey's sister, was almost molested by their uncle...the supposed Christian guardians, Kacey decided to be Livie's guardian. They had no money or skills, but Kacey wanted what was best for her sister.
They up and moved to Miami, far away so no one could find them. Livie enrolled in school, Kacey found a job and they moved into a cheap apartment. Kacey wasn't very good at making friends, but Livie did just fine. Kacey had different quirks she had because she buried her emotions/feelings because of the accident. She met her neighbor Storm and her daughter Mia and they became instant family even though Kacey tried to keep everyone at arms length. Eventually, she met the new hot neighbor in 1D. Trent had the panty dropper smile, the hot bod and beautiful shaggy hair. Who wouldn't fall for him. Kacey was definitively not immune to his charms. She lost her tongue when he was around. Couldn't make a coherent sentence even. I love their chemistry. He made her feel again. He also betrayed her and it left me depressed for Kacey. Things that came out about Trent nearly undid me!! So many secrets and lies, but it was all with good intentions and forgivable. I loved this book! Definitely a must read! I'm excited for Livie's story! She so innocent and can't wait to go where this author takes us!!

It Had to Be You (Lucky Harbor, #7) - Jill Shalvis

It Had to Be You (Lucky Harbor, #7)It Had to Be You by Jill Shalvis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

ARC was provided by Grand Central Publishing via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I knew going in this book was going to be fluff. After some of the more serious books I've read lately, I really enjoyed the quick light read. This book was perfect for me right now. Ali was a good strong character who stood her ground. She was no mooch and always paid her way. She ended up falling for a douche (view spoiler)[who was doing half the town (hide spoiler)]. After the douche screwed her over she gave up on all men. She wanted to make her way for herself, but found herself in mroe trouble than she expected. Nothing of her doing, but nonetheless, she was being questioned. Insert Luke. Hot demanding detective who wanted to get away from his life actually landing himself right in the middle of Ali's. You could feel the electricity of their connection through the book. I really loved watching their love grow even though they both knew it wasn't supposed to be. Such a cute series. Haven't been disappointed by Mrs. Shalvis yet! Keep 'em coming!

Twisted Perfection (Perfection, #1) - Abbi Glines

Twisted Perfection (Perfection, #1)Twisted Perfection by Abbi Glines
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

So I really wasn't sure I was going to love Woods. The first 2 books I kinda thought he was a horny rich boy. The way Rush used to look at him when he was talking to Blaire rubbed me the wrong way. I knew he was a nice guy, just figured he was privileged and got everything he wanted and was only nice when it suited him. But after book 3 of Rush and Blaire's, I got a taste of Woods and Della's relationship and I was hooked!! A little annoyed it ended in a cliff hanger, but at least they were happy and there is more to the story!! Della's story is heartbreaking and I like how the author didn't tell us all what was going on..it was a mystery and I loved how Woods could sooth her like no one else! I also hope Tripp gets a story! He was so sweet. "Not everyone sees you the way you do. Sometimes our imperfections are what makes us special."

Forever Too Far (Too Far, #3)Forever Too Far by Abbi Glines
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really loved the end of Rush and Blaire's story. This wasn't my favorite of the 3 books, but a great ending to their screwed up lives. Nan got on my nerves and needed a bitch slap and Rush finally grew a back bone. I loved all the different POV's and can't wait for Grants story!!

Darkness Before Dawn (Darkness, # 2) - Claire Contreras

Darkness Before Dawn (Darkness, # 2)Darkness Before Dawn by Claire Contreras
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I'm not sure I will be able to write a great review or one that does this series justice. I do want to say Im glad I had book 2 handy, I may have tried to claw some bitches eyes out. Blake and Cole had a rough life and pulled each other out of darkness and into the light.
I haven't read a series lately where I didn't want to ring the heroines neck. Most of the time they annoy me at the miscommunication or petty immature crying, but Blake didn't do that for me!! Yay! Yes, I questioned her decisions, but hell they were mostly justified.
Anyway, there are no fitting words for Cole. He had some amazingly sweet lines.
The epilogue was fantastic! PERFECTION.

*I had a better review, but GR decided not to save all of it...sorry!

Jet (Marked Men, #2) - Jay Crownover

Jet (Marked Men, #2)Jet by Jay Crownover
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

3.25 to 3.5 stars
I had such high hopes for this one. I LOVED Rule and re read it to get into Jet. I don't know if it was the guy on the cover that ruined Jet for me or if I just couldn't picture a metal head. Ayden got on my nerves close to 60% of course bc she wants to handle everything on her own.
I also wanted more of Rule in it...maybe because I liked him more. I can read Rule again and not get tired of him, I don't think I'd read this one again. Don't get me wrong it was good, just not as good as Rule. I'm very intrigued to read Rome and Cora's story next. The epilogue set that one up good!!!

Jet was so much more "into" the relationship than she was, and I think I had a hard time with that the most.
"I'll sing you anything you want, Ayd, if it means you keep looking at me the way you're looking at me right now. The long run can take care of itself much later."

Fire Inside (Chaos #2) - Kristen Ashley

Fire Inside (Chaos, #2)Fire Inside by Kristen Ashley
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

3.25 stars
I just want to start off by saying how much I LOVE Kristen Ashley. She is my all time favorite author and can and will read and re read her books. This one, unfortunately, did not do it for me. Typically I can devour a KA book and this one I decided to put it aside too any times and the only reason I finished it was because it was KA. This one didn't have the typical KA feel and I missed that. I didn't connect to Lanie and Hop like I've connected to the rest of the characters in the other books/series. I will always be a KA fan and will read her books no matter what.
So the reason for the 3 was because I read 4 other books include an old KA because I was bored with this one. I think I also had HIGH expectations. I didn't feel there was much depth. The first several pages were hot, but there was no story. By 45% I was wondering where and when the whole story was going to unfold.
By 80% it finally started to pick up for me, but the book was still lost on me.
There was one thing I did highlight and loved from their fights!
"Taste you in my mouth, lady. See you in my dreams."

I really loved the epilogue and I LOVE the name for the baby!! That's where the other .25 stars came from :)
