Hush, Hush (Hush, Hush, #1) - Becca Fitzpatrick

Hush, Hush (Hush, Hush, #1)Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

4.5 stars
So I'll start off saying that I'm not a big paranormal fan, but this was mild and a sweet YA romance. It had me guessing up until the very end. Nora met Patch and it wasn't an instant connection like "normal" romances. They definitely had a connection, but it was a question the whole time. Was he good for her? Elliot and Jules were in the picture winning Vee over and succeeding. I wasn't sure who the "good" guy was. That's another thing I loved about this story...it kept me guessing and second guessing! Nice change of pace. Ready for book 2!!

Dare You To (Pushing the Limits, #2) - Katie McGarry

Dare You To (Pushing the Limits, #2)Dare You To by Katie McGarry

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

*ARC provided by Harlequin via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review*

I'm not sure which story I liked better!! I honestly didn't think I was going to like Beth's story, but holy crap! Wow!! These teens definitely shouldn't have to go through this stuff!
5 of 5 stars - I would rate this more if I could. Definitely a must read and will be a re read for me!
In book 1, I was so sure if Beth had a book I wouldn't relate at all. She was very closed off and I couldn't picture relating to that. Now, I can't decide which book I like better!!

Beth was so closed off because she didn't want to feel anymore. Every time she started to feel she got hurt, so she started numbing the pain or running away. In book 1, she was beaten up pretty bad by her moms boyfriend and Noah and Isaiah stood up for her. They tried to get her to leave her mom alone and forget about her, but she couldn't. She has been responsible for her moms well being for years...it was second nature. Her mom couldn't care less if she was there or not, just where she could get her next fix. Man...that just kept breaking my heart. How could a mother tell her daughter over and over she was a mistake and how she ruined her life? Seriously, I was an emotional wreck - why don't these women and men use condoms!! They shouldn't be reproducing. Children are a miracle and should not be the ones taking care of the parents. Anyway, back to the story. As you can see, Beth didn't have a steady home life. She wants and craves normal. Unfortunately, I don't think anyone knows what "normal" is or should be. After the final straw, Beth is turned over to her Uncle. He used to be her hero and now she resents him and blames him for leaving. Scott was between a rock and a hard place when he left that life. He didn't want to leave Beth but he had to make a life for himself and then come back to rescue her. Man, by the time she was 8 she was loving in hell, just 2 years after Scott left her. So for 10 years, every person she loved left. Finally, it makes sense. I definitely understand why Beth is closed off.
Uncle Scott rips her away from her friends and moves her to a new school, a fancy home and a snobby community. Uncle Scott is a well known baseball player and is very respected in the community, but Beth doesn't want anyone to know they are related. She wants to be alone and not noticed until she can make a break for it.

Ryan Stone is a jock. A baseball player. Ryan has the perfect family. He has it all. On the outside. On the inside, he is broken. His family is broken, he loves baseball, but also has a new passion. Writing. His father is trying to live out his own dream of making it big through sports. His mother and father don't care what Ryan wants. They want to be the perfect family, they want people jealous/envious of them. Ryan's brother, Mark has been exiled from the family because he will give the family's name shame. Ryan feels alone and starts expressing himself through writing. Ryan and his best friends, Chris and Logan have been playing baseball together since they were in elementary school and rely on each other on and off the field. Ryan, Chris and Logan are at Taco Bell the last Friday night before school starts for the year. They are always daring each other. The current dare is to see who can get the most phone numbers.

Beth waltzes into Taco Bell and she is the next recipient of Ryan's dare. Ryan thought she was going to be easy - Beth gave him a run for his money. Ryan was unsuccessful and lost the dare that night.
Sunday after Beth moves in with Scott they are in town and run into Ryan. Ryan and Scott discuss baseball and Scott asks Ryan to look after Beth at school. So here comes the fun, Beth with her everyone sucks attitude still doesn't swoon over Ryan. Much to Ryan's dismay - since he's the popular baseball player he can have any girl except Beth. Beth is smart enough to know she isn't his type and knows there has to be something in it for him to even talk to her.
Lacy, one of Ryan's friends and Chris' girlfriend befriends Beth and remembers they used to be friends when they were 4 before Scott left and Beth moved. Lacy has been trying to rekindle their friendship and told Ryan to leave Beth alone if she still is a dare.
So this whole time, Beth is trying to make plan to escape and get her mom away from her abusive drug dealing boyfriend and Ryan is still trying to win the dare.
Ryan doesn't realize he's starting to fall for Beth and calls off the dare. He told Beth about the dare, thank goodness. I would have been so upset if he didn't.

Beth's best friend Isaiah isn't a huge part of the story any longer since Scott pulled her away from that life. It broke my heart when she said goodbye to him.

Ryan helps Beth realize she has family and friends in her new life and they could be happy. Beth helps Ryan with his family and they lean on each other and learn to trust.

I am starting to love YA books. There are some real issues and not all about sex. There are definitely some steamy scenes, but were def YA appropriate.

Pushing the Limits - Katie McGarry

Pushing the Limits (Pushing the Limits, #1)Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow wow wow!! Review to come! Amazing awesome YA book!!
Wow! This is going to be a tough review! I've read some really heavy books lately and am nervous with my review on this one as well. I'm scared I wont be doing this book justice.
This is not your typical YA romance. It definitely touches on deeper issues. Issues no one likes to talk about. Bipolar disease and foster care are the 2 main ones.
Echo and Noah meet in the counselor's office. Kudos to Mrs Collins. Such an amazing clinical counselor and mentor for these two! I don't typically read excerpts of the books I read next and didn't with this one, so I had no idea what I was getting into. Had no idea, it was a YA or what 'issues' were at hand - I think it made the book so much better. No expectations. Echo and Noah expected life to turn out a certain way and it didn't. I had no expectations with this book and it blew my mind. I didn't have family die in Afghanistan, but my husband is military so my heart hurt for Echo. Also, my mother is bipolar, but thankfully I didn't have to go through the hell Echo did with her mother.
I definitely empathized with these characters more than I thought I would. Granted, Noah - I could understand, but I could never put myself in his shoes - there was just no way. I empathized, but only so much that my brain could. Noah was/is an amazing friend/boyfriend/brother etc. I loved how this book wasn't all sex and love. It had issues and these kids dealt with these issues-together and then fell in love along the way.
I loved Noah's friends way more than Echo's friends and hope/can't wait for their stories!!

Crush - Nicole Williams

Crush (Crash, #3)Crush by Nicole Williams

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I was highly anticipating this book and had high hopes. Jude definitely did not disappoint. He was Mr Amazing as always! Lucy was on my nerves through the whole book up until 90%. I didn't understand her way of thinking. I understood it to an extent, but she took it to a whole new level.

Jude is all kinds of amazing. To put up with her "independence" he was a saint. As a couple, yes, you can be independent, but the way she was seemed more like she didn't want to make any joint decisions. In my opinion, Jude did almost all of the compromising.
When Lucy got that job with Mr. Asshole, I was surprised she kept it for as long as she did. She wasn't comfortable around him, yet she kept working. Jude had all kinds of rights to be "territorial" because Mr Asshole proved himself to be an asshole.

All in all, book 1 was by far my favorite.

Jude said a lot of swoon worthy quotes..as usual but my favorite was:
"Baby, football isn't my dream. You are."

10 more minutes!!!!!!!!
READY FOR THIS TO COME OUT!!!!!! NEED MORE JUDE!!!!! Counting down the days!!!

Hopeless - Colleen Hoover

Hopeless (Hopeless, #1)Hopeless by Colleen Hoover

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow!!! What a heartbreaking story! Not sure if I can give a review for this one. I might be speechless...
After a few days and reading a few different books, I still don't know if I can write a review to do this book justice. Sky and Dean Holders connection is still lingering. I can't get them out of my head. The way he was so patient to help her find herself and never pressured and wow the hot scenes they had! This was truly a heartbreaking story with some very twisted/sad background. I can't say if it'll be a re-read, but this definitely should be a read for everyone. This author is amazing!

Wallbanger - Alice Clayton

WallbangerWallbanger by Alice Clayton

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 hilarious stars!!! This book has to be the funniest book I've read in a long time!! Fresh and funny. She didn't try hard and it wasn't over the top. She was so Orgasm deprived the whole time and it made the story even funnier. She kept calling her Lower Caroline LC and orgasms O's. She also spoke to them like they were a person!! Come On! Who does that?! HILARIOUS!

So Caroline moved into her old bosses apartment and immediately regretted it after her first night sleeping there. She was headboard to headboard to her own "wallbanger". Apparently, the walls were paper thin and Simon was a little active. To be honest, she was nicer than I would have been. I would have banged on the wall the first night telling them to knock it off. Like the sweet neighbor Caroline is, she listened until their sexcapades were complete. She did end up naming the first one 'Spanx', the second one 'Purina' and the 3rd one 'Giggles'. 3 nights in a row...3 different girls - Caroline began to make assumptions about Simon before even meeting him.

Then there's Clive. He may be one of the funniest characters!! Clive is her human cat. He fell in love with Purina, one of Simons 'harem'. He went nuts when she was with Simon. For one, while Simon and her had sex - she would meow!! Seriously!! Who meows?? Lol!! Anyway, so Clive is in love with Purina and there are several great scenes with that!
Anyway, finally one night she can't take it any longer, she was trying to find her O because it has disappeared and was interrupted by Simon and one of his 'Harem'. So, in her little Pink Nightie, she bangs on his door and demands he quits banging on her wall so she can get sleep. Apparently, he wasn't wearing much either. They finally meet and see each other and they fall in love. Each of them, of course, too stubborn and blind to admit it.
Their friends become a foursome and they are still fighting their attraction.
She didn't want to be in his harem and he didn't want a white picket fence. They inadvertently started dating and they each hadn't realized. They would bake or cook together, watch movies and the sexual tension was cackling. Finally, things started going in the right direction and they find their feelings for each other.
One of my favorite lines in the book:
"LC and Wang, it sounded like a rap duo..." Haha! Now...go read it and you'll understand!!!

The Sweet Gum Tree - Katherine Allred

The Sweet Gum TreeThe Sweet Gum Tree by Katherine Allred

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I am speechless....utterly speechless. How can I write a review for this??? Wowowowowowowow!!!!!

5+++++ stars!!! Wow! What an emotional journey!!!! I'm not even sure I can do this book justice with a review! It was so heart wrenching. I definitely empathized with Alix. If you haven't read this, please do yourself a favor an put it on your TBR list NEXT!!!

Alix fell in love with Nick at 8 years old when she decided to save him. Nick didn't have the home life that Alix had. Yet, he was always the protector. He wanted to protect Alix.
"I'll never let anybody hurt you again, Alix, I swear."
Nick always thought he would end up like his father. He went through life thinking he wasn't good enough, especially for Alix.
"You're the best thing that's ever happened to me, Alix. I'm not going to let anything hurt you, not even me. I figured I had to stay away from you for your own good." He had stayed away from her for part of their teenage years and broke her heart. After that silliness, they were inseparable (behind closed doors). She dated Hugh as a cover to appease her family. While Nick was keeping a secret from Alix, he asked her to trust him and she did. Finally, when it all came down to it, he essentially chose Lindsay. He was protecting her as well. From what? We don't know until the story wraps up. Amazingly enough, he never told Alix the truth and she hated him for all these years.
After he left for good, Alix fell apart. She offered to go with him or wait on him to come back.
"You can't destroy your life for me." [Nick says to Alix then she says] "I don't have a life without you." Wow, my heart broke into a few more pieces after that. All she wanted was to be with him. He didn't want her struggling to live life. He wanted her to have things that he couldn't give.
After he left for good, she turned to Hugh and he was there for her. He was comfortable and he was the only alternative. He bailed her out of the mess that Nick left in his wake.
(view spoiler)[After an unfortunate loss for Alix and Hugh, their marriage falls apart. After 15 years of faking it, it finally ends. (hide spoiler)]
Nick comes back and yet again her world is turned up side down. He wants to make it up to her. He wants to show her he only did it to protect her. She has spent the last 15 years blaming him for everything. She has built up a wall and doesn't feel anything anymore. She doesn't feel pain, joy, happy, sad, anything. Nick is trying to break her walls down and leaves her with this to think about:
"I love you. There hasn't been a single day in the last fifteen years that I haven't regretted not telling you when I had the chance. That house I'm working on next door? It's never been for me. I'm building it for you. Without you to share it, it will never be anything but an empty pile of boards."
Wowowowowow!!! So finally, the truth comes out and she finds out what really happens with Lindsay and then she lashes out at Nick. The ending was so intense. (view spoiler)[The way she told Nick about Katie wasn't fair and she spoke out of anger and hurt. No one deserved that, but Nick left her without a backwards glance to do the noble thing. (hide spoiler)]

There were some main supporting characters I didn't mention in my review, but I knew Jenna had a huge secret. Also, the Judge was my favorite side character. He always let Alix make up her own decision and never chastised her for it. Her father came back as well and became a rock in her life.
Oh the epilogue...such an amazing story definitely needed this epilogue. I am satisfied and so happy with the epilogue...ESP the last paragraph!! I was an emotional mess reading this, but am so happy I did!! Now go read it!!

Real - Katy Evans

Real (Real, Raw & Ripped, #1)Real by Katy Evans

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Damn damn damn....I need more. I can't believe it's over!!!
Review to come!

5 stars - hands down!! Remy is mine - everyone else BACK OFF!!
I was sold on Remy after 2% into the book. A hot underground fighter as a hero in a romance novel! Hell yeah!
"My.
God.
Dimples.
Dark scruffy jaw.
Boyish smile. Man's body.
Killer Tan."

"He's mesmerizingly perfect and incredibly hard. Everything, from his beautifully slim hips and narrow waist to his broad shoulders, is solid. And that six-pack. No. It's an eight pack. The sexy V of his obliques dips into his satin, navy blue shorts, which gently hug his powerful legs, thick with muscle. I can see his quads, traps, pecs, and biceps, all gloriously tight and cut. Celtic tattoos circle both of his arms, exactly where his bulging biceps and the rigid square deltoid of his shoulders meet." Now...if that doesn't get your attention, I don't know what will. A perfectly described man.
From the very beginning I knew this story was going to be different than the rest. Yes, he's rich, hot, has issues - but this story has a whole different spin on it. I LOVED it. Can't say it enough. There was so much sexual tension that I couldn't stand it for Brooke. I really thought she was going to explode. Also, it made me wonder why he's holding off on her. She begged him several times and yet he still denied her, but said stuff like this.
"When I take you, you'll be mine." And "I want you to know me first, and then, I want you to let me know if you still want me to take you." Holy cow! Definitely some deep issues. He doesn't have the self confidence enough for her to love him if she finds out the real him.

After Brooke begging Remy again he finally snaps:
"Why'd you want to have sex with me? To have a fucking adventure? What was I supposed to be? Your one-night-fucking stand? I'm every woman's adventure, damn you, and I don't want to be yours. I want to be your fucking REAL. You get that? If I fuck you, I want you to belong to me. To be mine. I want you to give yourself to me - not Riptide!"
Wow! I never got the feeling she wanted to bang Riptide. She never came off as star struck or a squealing teenage girl. She genuinely wanted him for him the whole time.

All of the different songs referenced in the book made the book so much better. I really connected with the love they had for each other. Each and every song mentioned I stopped reading (as hard as it was) You Tubed the video with the lyrics and reflected. The characters came so alive with the lyrics. AHMAZING!! There is so much more to say about this book...I can't even put it all into words. Nora, Mel, Riley, Pete aka Pedro. All great supporting characters. Can't wait for Mel's book!'n she cracks me up!! I love her!!! I have high hopes for it!! Also NEED MORE REMY AND BROOKE!!!

I am still on a Remy high and don't know when I'll come down or if I want to!

Deep Autumn Heat - Elisabeth Barrett

Deep Autumn Heat (Star Harbor, #1)Deep Autumn Heat by Elisabeth Barrett

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

3.5 to 3.75 stars. I'm a big fan of 1st person POV and this one was 3rd. It's most recently become more of a personal preference for me. Still a cute book!
Lexie moved to Star Harbor to escape. She started up a business, her passion. She is well known in their small town for her unique dishes. Particularly her coconut cake. She was doing just fine and the Sebastian Grayson waltzes through her doors. He is a renowned chef in New York. He is a pompous ass instantly and leaves a bad taste in her mouth. Her mind says no, but her body betrays her. She is attracted to him, against her better judgement.
Seb decides he likes Lexie's spitfire attitude. She doesn't take his crap and it drives him wild.
At the end the story was really intense. I was waiting for that to happen all book. It was kind of predictable, but still good! I was really invested in the scene and the characters by this point.

Walking Disaster - Jamie McGuire

Walking Disaster (Beautiful, #2)Walking Disaster by Jamie McGuire

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

4.5 stars
I thought this book was going to be the exact same book as the first just Travis' point of view. I guess that was a stupid thought :) but this book was so needed to understand the way Travis was. His unexplainable need in Beautiful Disaster for Abby or Pigeon as he referred to her. The book didn't have a lot of dialogue. You had to read the first book to know definitely what was going on. I always wondered why he came up with the nickname Pigeon. It doesn't seem like a compliment. Apparently, it was and Abby didn't mind. Travis finally explains:
"I decided a long time ago I would feed on the vultures until a dove came along. A pigeon. The kind if soul that didn't impede in anyone; just walked around worrying about its own business; trying to get through life without pulling everyone else down with its own needs and selfish habits. Brave. A communicator. Intelligent. Beautiful. Soft-spoken. A creature that mates for life. Unattainable until she has a reason to trust you."
Wow! He fell hard for her in the beginning when he had no clue about her. Without thinking about it. That's what he called her. He found love and didn't even know it.
Even in the beginning his feelings were so strong and he didn't want to admit it because he didn't want her to go away. He was afraid she would leave him. Finally, he admitted his feelings to Shep.
"I have feelings for her. I care about her. A lot. I can't stand it when she's not around."
Ahhhh Shep and America. They made me laugh. America was rooting for them all along. Shep was so in love with America he didn't want Travis to screw anything up...and Travis screwed up a lot. But luckily, Shep and America got through it with only a few hiccups down the road.
I love Travis' love for Abby. It seemed really extreme in Beautiful Disaster, but it was definitely explained.
"I've wanted you for so long, Abby. You're all I want."
You never questioned Travis' love for Abby.
"That was some first kiss," she said with a tired contented expression. I scanned her face and smiled. "Your last first kiss." <---- swooooon!!
Him finally telling her he loved her.
"I know we're f*ed up, all right? I'm impulsive and hot tempered, and you get under my skin like no one else. You act like you hate me one minute, and then you need me the next. I never get anything right, and I don't deserve you...but I f*ing love you, Abby. I love you more than I've loved anyone or anything, ever. When you're around, I don't need booze or money or the fighting or the one-night stands...all I need is you. You're all I think about. You're all I dream about. You're all I want."
"If there was a woman made for me...it's you."
Ahhhh and finally she comes to her senses and breaks up with Parker after denying her feelings for so long!!
"I can't see you at all, actually. I'm...pretty sure I'm in love with Travis."
Man, I think I'm about to quote the whole dang book!!
"You know why I want you? I didn't know I was lost until you found me. I didn't know what alone was until the first night I spent without you in my bed. You're the one thing I've got right. You're what I've been waiting for Pigeon."
Aghh and the saddest most heart breaking line in the whole book -- "the only woman I'd ever want to marry just broke my heart." Oh man if I didn't start bawling after reading that.
This was such an emotional read for me. I love reading the men's point of views because its rare men ever speak their mind or their true feelings.
The reason it didn't get 5 stars was because I really wanted more dialogue. I felt lost a few times because I couldn't remember all of the details from the first book. I can't wait for his brothers stories so I can get more Abby and Travis.

Own The Wind - Kristen Ashley

Own the Wind (Chaos, #1)Own the Wind by Kristen Ashley

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Best book EVER! 5 stars hands down. I can never get myself enough of Kristen Ashley writing. She blows my mind every time. I really was excited for her to come out with another book especially that is a spin off of the Dream Man series as well as tying some if my favorite supporting characters. I am not a highlighter when it comes to books, but Shy mad me highlight some some I would remember the wonderful things he would say to Tabby.

"I'd like to know why you dialed my number tonight, but if you don't wanna share that shit, that's cool too. I'll just say babe, I'm glad you did. You need a safe place just to forget shit and escape, I'll give it to you. Tonight. Tomorrow. Next week. Next month. That safe place is me, Tabby. But I don't want that old shit haunting this. Ghosts haunt until you get rid of them. Lets get rid of that fucking ghost and move on so I can beat your ass at pool."

Shy wants to be there for her. He laid it out for her. You can see clearly he's fallen or falling in love with her.

"What just happened was somethin' that was bigger than all that. It was bigger than everything. I had a taste of you four years ago that I could never get off my tongue. Now I've tasted more of you with more than just my mouth and I know I wanna keep it in a way I don't want to think of it bein' done. Not in a few weeks. Not in a few months. Maybe not ever."
Wow! After being a man whore all these years, she stood out and he remembered. Wow! Swoon!!

Gosh- again another swoon quote from Shy.
"I have never, not once, not on my life, made love to a woman. Not once. Not until what I just did with you."

Now here is Tabby's turn to show she is devoted to Shy. After Tabby's life was turned up side down, Shy's brother is looking out for him and questions Tabby if she is serious about him. After all, Lan has no idea she's had a crush on Shy forever.
"Crap went down between us that's my fault because I was messed up, confused, acting stupid and frankly immature, and Shy got understandably angry at me. We were apart for a month and I was lost. Totally. Lost in a way I wasn't even lost when I lost Jason. Now we're back together and I am found. If I'm misinterpreting things and all that spells 'rebound' for you, my apologies. It doesn't to me. For the first time in a long, long time, I'm happy. I'm also happy to take the time to prove to you I'm willing to do my part to see we go the distance. I just hope you won't mess with it in the meantime, because you yourself said you noticed your brother is happy too, he is in a way I've never seen, it would be nice if you wouldn't fuck that up."

I really liked Tabby's character in this story. In Tacks story you saw she was immature and in the beginning of this one the same. Then we fast forward and we see her evolve. She is strong - watching her mother treat her like she is nothing and then Ty-Ty steps up as a great role model, she gets her act together. I also love Tab's and Tyra's relationship. They can relate to each other because they both fell for the same type of guy.

Now, the relationship between Nat and Tab - messed up! I love how Tab defends Shy to Nat. I hate how Nat made her give her the definition of sisterhood because she was being a shit sister.
"The thing you gotta get is, a sister's any sister at all, she stands by her sister's side or takes her back no matter how she feels about her sister's man or the shit that goes down between her sister and that man. You have got to learn that but learn it now." Damn. Awesome! Love that.

Shy keeps showing Tabby how much he cares about her. Now he's got to get the approval of Chaos/her family.
Tabby got some more crap news and Shy is of course there to comfort her. SWOON!
"May feel like your fallin', Tabby, but remember, I'm at the bottom ready to catch you." If that doesn't make your crap news turn into to not so crap of news I don't know what will!
There is not a cliff hanger on this THANK GOD! But there is definitely more to the story/series!! I had a huge grin on my face when past characters showed up! Tex, Elvira, Hawk, Mitch, Brock....I love how she connects her books. Just another way she connects with her readers.
So excited for Hop's story!!

Avoiding Responsibility - K. A. Linde

Avoiding Responsibility (Avoiding, #2)Avoiding Responsibility by K.A. Linde

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Yes, I really enjoyed this book!! I can't say I loved it more than the first! I loved Ramsey ...Lexi on the other hand was kind of annoying. She really can't say no to Jack. I get it to a degree...but come on?? 7 years of his BS? She knows how great of a liar he is. I mean...I kind of think they deserve each other... Well up until the end where she grew a freaking backbone!!
I liked Ramsey, I just didn't think they were well together. She has some issues and he does too, but not as severe. He was working at making his life better for her. Everything he did, he had Lexi in mind. I thought it was super romantic!!
What an amazing best friend too!!! Chyna!!! I hope they evolve her character more in the next book.

I cried like a baby at the end. Man! What an effed up love story! Jack and Lexi...seriously. I did not know what was going to end up happening... What an awesome book!!! I would seriously give it more stars if I could!!! LOVED the way it went back several years and present day. It helped evolve the story and wasn't missing details! Bekah - what a bitch!

So..I woke up this morning (after finishing the book at 2am) with knots in my stomach sick. I just knew they were going to end up together. This author is amazing. I'm so emotionally involved and wow! I can't wait to start the next book!

Rule - Jay Crownover

Rule (Marked Men, #1)Rule by Jay Crownover

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh me oh my!!! Where is my fan!! What kind of name is Rule!?? That was my first question, but dayyyuuuum if it didn't start to grow on me!! I'm normally not attracted to tattoos and piercings and such, but man--Rule played by his own rules and knew what he liked and didn't like! And I LOVE that in a man. Of course there was a lot of grammatical errors and such, but I got so lost in the story and characters I still give it 5 AHMAZING FANTASTIC GLORIOUS stars!! I just hope Ayden and Jets book is critiqued better. I can't wait for more!! Also, Remy's tragic accident - so heart wrenching and emotional!

Grounded - R.K. Lilley

Grounded (Up In The Air, #3)Grounded by R.K. Lilley

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

There are so many things wrong with this match of Bianca and James, but then again so many things right. Their love for each other was nothing each of them had ever known. It was evident each of them had never had an intimate relationship that resembled love.
They find comfort in each other in a way they never knew existed. Even though I don't fully understand the Dom role, it still to me feels like he's raping her into submission. He does use sex to manipulate her, but a few scenes it disgusted me. There is no doubt that he loves her, and I know he is self controlled, but why couldn't he control this. Is it because the Dom in him uses it as a release and not an intimacy? Maybe I can't fully grasp my head around the scene.
I would have never guessed a self assured James was so insecure with their relationship. Bianca was cynical and skeptical but in her way she did reassure him. He had little faith in her with the running away part.
Also, this book was more of their sexual relationship. Don't get me wrong, that was great...but why not focus on her paintings more and what Stephan is doing or her father or some other dramas.
At around 87% I couldn't read fast enough! I wanted to hurry and get to the end!!! Such an adrenaline rush. I don't want to give it away, but this author is amazing at writing! I love her style and the way you relate to the characters as though you are a bystander.
I think my favorite quote is when James is referring to Stephen and Bianca's relationship--triple swoon!!!
"You two aren't toxic together. It's not that kind of co-dependence. You two survive together; you thrive together. I wouldn't dream of making you change that. I'm trying to join your family, not tear it apart, Love."
He understands her and Stephan so well. He wasn't jealous of their relationship - ever!
This is hands down the best book of tr trilogy! Loving this author and can't wait for Tristan's story!!!
