Deep Autumn Heat by Elisabeth BarrettMy rating: 4 of 5 stars
3.5 to 3.75 stars. I'm a big fan of 1st person POV and this one was 3rd. It's most recently become more of a personal preference for me. Still a cute book!
Lexie moved to Star Harbor to escape. She started up a business, her passion. She is well known in their small town for her unique dishes. Particularly her coconut cake. She was doing just fine and the Sebastian Grayson waltzes through her doors. He is a renowned chef in New York. He is a pompous ass instantly and leaves a bad taste in her mouth. Her mind says no, but her body betrays her. She is attracted to him, against her better judgement.
Seb decides he likes Lexie's spitfire attitude. She doesn't take his crap and it drives him wild.
At the end the story was really intense. I was waiting for that to happen all book. It was kind of predictable, but still good! I was really invested in the scene and the characters by this point.
