Grounded by R.K. LilleyMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
There are so many things wrong with this match of Bianca and James, but then again so many things right. Their love for each other was nothing each of them had ever known. It was evident each of them had never had an intimate relationship that resembled love.
They find comfort in each other in a way they never knew existed. Even though I don't fully understand the Dom role, it still to me feels like he's raping her into submission. He does use sex to manipulate her, but a few scenes it disgusted me. There is no doubt that he loves her, and I know he is self controlled, but why couldn't he control this. Is it because the Dom in him uses it as a release and not an intimacy? Maybe I can't fully grasp my head around the scene.
I would have never guessed a self assured James was so insecure with their relationship. Bianca was cynical and skeptical but in her way she did reassure him. He had little faith in her with the running away part.
Also, this book was more of their sexual relationship. Don't get me wrong, that was great...but why not focus on her paintings more and what Stephan is doing or her father or some other dramas.
At around 87% I couldn't read fast enough! I wanted to hurry and get to the end!!! Such an adrenaline rush. I don't want to give it away, but this author is amazing at writing! I love her style and the way you relate to the characters as though you are a bystander.
I think my favorite quote is when James is referring to Stephen and Bianca's relationship--triple swoon!!!
"You two aren't toxic together. It's not that kind of co-dependence. You two survive together; you thrive together. I wouldn't dream of making you change that. I'm trying to join your family, not tear it apart, Love."
He understands her and Stephan so well. He wasn't jealous of their relationship - ever!
This is hands down the best book of tr trilogy! Loving this author and can't wait for Tristan's story!!!
